History/background of the BarrierTech products
The BarrierTech technology, today held by Vogt Holding AS, trading the product line through Fiber ProTector Norge AS addresses the growing demand for more effective, safer and more environmentally friendly solutions to bacterial and virus related problems.
The products were launched in Norway in 2005 by Biosphere Innovation AS. The founding fathers were Gary Brierley and Espen Vogt. After the unfortunate demise of Gary Brierley in 2011, the intellectual property and trademark was taken over by Vogt Holding AS I 2018. Fiber ProTector Norge AS (Est 1995) have since late 2016 been responsible for trading, manufacturing and sales of the products.
The BarrierTech products offer revolutionary new characteristics in sanitizing and disinfectant solutions. The combination of having a high antimicrobial effectiveness without leaving a negative environmental footprint is unique. This sustainable technology also offers safeness in handling and no hazards to the users.
Recent years have seen an unprecedented growth in the incidence and severity of problems arising from environmental contamination and from resistant strains of commonly occurring bacteria and viruses. The corona virus is just the last in an endless series of influenza viruses and is only one area of many where effective antimicrobial products are needed. Whilst many such products are available in the market, most have limited effect or pose risks to human health as well as the wider environment.
Industrial challenges related to unwanted microbial activity are also massive, opening the market for effective solutions in practically all industries; for example Shipping, Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Metalworking, Healthcare, etc.
The BarrierTech technology, addresses the growing demand for more effective, safer and more environmentally friendly solutions to these problems.
